Rachael Nadine Superville, née Heusner, was born on the
4th November 1969 in Belize City, Belize.
Educated at local schools in Belize, Rachael started painting on her own at age 16.She began her former training in the arts at age 18 at St John's College in Belize City and continued at Santa Monica College in Los Angeles, California USA.
Rachael has had many individual and group exhibitions. Now living in Tobago, she tells stories about the island in many of her paintings.
Her style is somewhere between impressionistic and realistic, but is neither. Her major influences on her work are Norman Rockwell, Belisle (a painter from Belize) and Dégas.
ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
My mission in painting is to produce Caribbean stories that transcend borders, create nostalgia and entertain the viewer, while enjoying my craft.
